Our Services
DIFOART produces fine art printing, giclée pigment printing, chromogenic C-print, large format exhibition printing, facsimile reproduction, framing, lamination and panel mounting, artwork scanning, colour management and exhibition installation at its studio in Seyrantepe, Istanbul. The studio was founded on 10 May 2004; its origins go back to REFO, established by A. Halim Kulaksız in 1969. DIFOART has been a Hahnemühle Certified Studio Gold since 2013. It works with museums, galleries, artists, photographers, hotels and corporate collections, and runs the entire process in one studio, from printing to framing to on-site installation.
Printing
Fine Art and Giclée Printing — Giclée is printing with archival pigment inks onto cotton-based art paper. DIFOART produces these on a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-6100 up to 150 cm wide, with 11 paper options including Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308, William Turner 310, German Etching 310 and Museum Etching 310.
C-Print (Chromogenic) — A colour negative, slide or digital file is exposed onto light-sensitive photographic paper and developed in wet chemistry. DIFOART produces C-prints on a Durst Lambda 131 laser exposure system up to 127 cm wide, at a perceptual resolution equivalent to 4000 dpi.
High End Printing — DIFOART's core printing service: chromogenic C-print, giclée (archival pigment) fine art printing and canvas printing, produced in one studio.
Canvas Printing — Printed directly onto canvas with no emulsion coating; painting or varnishing can follow. Canvas is stretched on kiln-dried imported pine stretcher bars, up to 150 cm wide.
Large Format Exhibition Printing — Latex and UV printing produce single-piece work up to 320 cm wide; length is limited by roll size.
Facsimile and Reproduction — Paintings, manuscripts, historical photographs and documents, from artwork scanning through to archival facsimile. A facsimile is a one-to-one reproduction at the original's true size, colour and surface texture.
Latex Printing — Latex printing up to 320 cm wide for wallpaper, self-adhesive vinyl and sheet applications.
Lenticular (3D) Printing — Lenticular printing, which produces depth and motion that change with viewing angle.
Duratrans and Lightboxes — Printing onto light-transmitting backlit paper with aluminium lightbox frames; evenly backlit, produced to any required size up to 150 x 250 cm.
Amateur Photo Printing — Photographic printing for individual customers.
Framing and Presentation
Framing — Wood, Artbox, Box Frame, Floating and polystyrene frames. Glazing options are museum glass, Matobel anti-reflective glass and standard glass. In a Box Frame a 1-3 cm gap between glass and artwork creates a sense of depth.
Custom Framing and Passepartout — Frames and passepartout cut to the artwork's own dimensions.
DIFOPlex (Acrylic Sandwich / Diasec) — The photograph is pressed between clear acrylic and an aluminium composite panel using acid-free materials. An aluminium subframe is applied to the back, serving as both support and hanging system.
Lamination and Mounting — Hot and cold lamination up to 150 cm wide on a compressor air-pressure lamination machine. Prints are mounted onto sintra, gatorboard, plexiglas, Dibond or Forex. Forex sheets are 1-10 mm acid-free (pH neutral) PVC at 2.5 kg per square metre. Dibond is an aluminium composite panel, 0.5 mm aluminium on both faces with PVDF paint, and does not bend.
Hanging Systems and Installation — Exhibition hanging systems and on-site installation. Where original artworks must be moved, DIFOART also takes responsibility for transport and placement.
Support Services
Artwork and Glass Negative Scanning — High-resolution artwork scanning on a Fuji Finescan, including glass negatives.
Monitor Calibration and Colour Management — Spectrophotometer measurement, calibrated monitors, paper-specific ICC profiles and a physical proof print.
Retouching and Graphics — Photographic retouching and pre-press graphic preparation.
